Breaking News: BYU coaches are scheduled to visit a 5-star forward in the 2025 class…… full story

Kevin Young and his BYU staff are aiming for the stars in the 2025 recruiting class. BYU has official visits set up with multiple top recruits are in the mix with several others.

One of those other recruits is 5-star forward Caleb Wilson, who is rated as the #4 player in the 2025 class, according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings. Caleb’s dad Jerry told me that BYU coaches will visit Caleb in his hometown of Atlanta next week. BYU offered Caleb in late May and didn’t make his initial top 12, but quickly got back in the picture after a Zoom call earlier this month that made an impression on Caleb.

Sources tell me that as of now Kevin Young and assistant Brandon Dunson will visit Caleb. Kevin Young is from Atlanta and Dunson recruited Caleb when he was an assistant at Stanford. New grad assistant Kyle Strudivant isn’t involved in the recruitment, but Kyle recently graduated from Georgia Tech and is from Atlanta.

BYU has set to set an official visit date with with Caleb yet, but sources tell me that Caleb is expected to visit BYU. I anticipate a date to be set after coaches meet with Caleb in Atlanta.

Listed at 6-foot-9 or 6-foot-10, Caleb Wilson is friends with BYU target and the top player in the class AJ Dybantsa. Both players are versatile and can play multiple positions, but I view AJ’s best position as the 3 while Caleb’s best position is the 4 spot. Caleb can also play the 5 in spurts due to his defense.

Caleb is an elite shot blocker who is a menace defensively. Offensively, he excels in transition and can put the ball on the floor and attack the glass. His three-point shot is developing but he does have range out to the three-point line. He projects as a one-and-done player and lottery pick when he enters the NBA draft.

If you want to dream big, AJ would be BYU’s starting 3 and Caleb BYU’s starting 4 in 2025 if they were both to commit to BYU.
