The University of Nebraska has announced the 2024 Athletics Hall of Fame Class, recognizing exceptional individuals who have made lasting impacts on the school’s athletic programs. This year’s class comprises five outstanding individuals:
Tom Osborne, a legendary figure in Nebraska football, is being honored for his remarkable achievements as both a player and coach. Osborne’s tenure as head coach from 1973 to 1997 yielded three national championships and 13 conference titles.
Jordan Larson, a volleyball standout, is being recognized for her impressive career, which includes an Olympic gold medal and multiple All-American honors. Larson’s contributions to the Huskers’ volleyball program have been instrumental in shaping the team’s success.
Grant Wistrom, a dominant defensive end, is being inducted for his exceptional football career, which included All-American honors and a successful NFL stint. Wistrom’s achievements on the field have cemented his place among Nebraska’s all-time greats.
Maurtice Ivy, a prolific scorer in men’s basketball, is being honored for his outstanding contributions to the program. Ivy’s impressive career statistics and accolades have earned him a place among the Huskers’ all-time leading scorers.
Nancy Metcalf, a volleyball player and NCAA champion, rounds out the class. Metcalf’s achievements on the court, including her role in the Huskers’ 2000 national championship, have made her a beloved figure in Nebraska athletics.
The 2024 Athletics Hall of Fame Class will be formally inducted on September 13, 2024, in a ceremony celebrating their remarkable achievements and dedication to Nebraska athletics.
