Tuscaloosa, AL – The Alabama Crimson Tide’s secondary is poised for a significant upgrade with the arrival of three talented freshman defensive backs. This trio of newcomers is expected to bring a surge of depth, versatility, and excitement to the unit in the upcoming 2025 season.
Leading the charge is 5-star cornerback, Jeremiah Alexander, from Atlanta, Georgia. Regarded as one of the top cornerbacks in the 2025 recruiting class, Alexander boasts exceptional speed, agility, and ball-hawking skills. His presence is expected to bolster the Tide’s pass defense and provide a lockdown corner opposite returning starter, Eli Ricks.
Joining Alexander in the secondary is safety, Kristian Story, from Lanett, Alabama. A 4-star recruit and Alabama’s Mr. Football in 2024, Story is a physical, hard-hitting safety with excellent instincts and range. He’s expected to compete for playing time alongside returning starters, Jordan Battle and DeMarcco Hellams.
Rounding out the trio is cornerback, Jahlil Hurley, from Florence, Alabama. A 4-star recruit and one of the state’s top prospects, Hurley is a dynamic, athletic cornerback with excellent quickness and footwork. He’ll add depth to the Tide’s cornerback corps and push for playing time in nickel and dime packages.
The addition of these three freshman defensive backs is expected to elevate the Tide’s secondary to one of the nation’s best. With their unique blend of size, speed, and physicality, this trio is poised to make an immediate impact in Tuscaloosa.
