Arsenal player signed for £30m now deemed to be worth £130m

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard is now deemed to be worth £100million more than what the Gunners initially paid for him.

This is according to the CIES Football Observatory, who named the Gunners captain as the tenth most valuable footballer in the world.

Odegaard‘s name is one that has been already around for a long time, despite being just 25 years of age.

At 15 years old, he was already playing first-team football for Norwegian club Stromgodset and for the Norway senior national team.

A year later, in 2015, Odegaard joined Real Madrid. This was deemed a coup for both parties, one of the biggest clubs in the world signing one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the game.

However, he didn’t have much luck at Real, taking in several loan spells and struggling for game time when at the Bernabeu. He made just 11 senior appearances for Los Blancos in total.

Arsenal struck gold by signing Martin Odegaard

Three years ago, Odegaard moved to Arsenal on loan, and in the summer of 2021, the Gunners signed him permanently for a reported £30million plus add-ons.
