New York, NY – The WNBA announced today that Stephanie White, former player and current coach, has been named the WNBA Woman of the Year.
This prestigious award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the growth and development of women’s basketball, demonstrated outstanding leadership and community service, and inspired countless young women and girls to pursue their dreams.

After retiring from playing, White transitioned into coaching, leading the Indiana Fever to a WNBA championship in 2012. She has also been an advocate for women’s empowerment and education, working tirelessly to promote opportunities for young women and girls.
“Stephanie White embodies the spirit of the WNBA and is an inspiration to us all,” said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. “Her dedication to the game, her leadership, and her commitment to empowering women and girls make her the perfect recipient of this award.”
White will be honored at the WNBA Awards ceremony later this month.
