Arsenal push for the Premier League title has intensified, setting the stage for a nail-biting conclusion on the final day against Manchester City. However, pundit Chris Sutton raises concerns for the Gunners’ prospects in the upcoming season if they fail to win the title this time around.

The euphoria following Arsenal’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Manchester United has ensured a thrilling climax to the title race, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming fixtures involving Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. After faltering in the late stages of last season, Arsenal’s resurgence this summer has kept them in contention until the very end.

Yet, Sutton warns of potential repercussions if Arsenal fall short once again, suggesting that doubts could creep into the minds of the players ahead of the next campaign

Speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off Podcast, Sutton expressed his apprehension about the psychological impact of another near-miss for Arsenal: “I just want to make this point, from a player’s perspective. If Arsenal can’t get over the line in a season like they have had this season then maybe next season the doubts will start kicking in. If they have been that good.”

Mikel Arteta, undoubtedly, will demand unwavering determination from his squad as they navigate the final stretch of the season. Despite the looming challenge posed by Manchester City’s consistency, Arsenal remain steadfast in their pursuit of glory.

Drawing parallels with Liverpool’s relentless pursuit of the title in previous seasons, despite falling short, there’s a sense of optimism that Arsenal’s persistence will eventually pay off. Just as Liverpool reaped the rewards of their perseverance in the COVID-19 season, Arsenal too could find success if they maintain their upward trajectory.

The Gunners’ ambition to strengthen their squad is evident through their summer signings, including Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and David Raya. This proactive approach to bolstering the team indicates a readiness to compete at the highest level, regardless of the challenges that lie ahead.
