Bloomington, IN – In a move that ensures stability and continuity for the Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball program, Head Coach Mike Woodson has signed a 10-year contract extension.
The new deal, which runs through the 2032-2033 season, solidifies Woodson’s position as one of the longest-tenured coaches in the Big Ten. Since taking over the program in 2021, Woodson has led the Hoosiers to consecutive postseason appearances and has revitalized the team’s culture.
“We are thrilled to have Mike Woodson leading our men’s basketball program for the next decade,” said Indiana University Vice President and Director of Athletics, Scott Dolson. “His commitment to excellence, both on and off the court, aligns perfectly with our values as an institution.”
Woodson, a former Indiana player and NBA coach, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue leading the Hoosiers.
“I’m honored to be part of the Indiana basketball family for the long haul,” Woodson said. “I’m excited to build on the progress we’ve made and to bring championships back to Bloomington.”
The contract extension is a testament to Woodson’s dedication to the program and the university’s commitment to supporting him in his efforts to restore Indiana basketball to its former glory.
