‘I really do’: Micah Richards wants ‘ridiculous’ £51m player to stay at Manchester City for the next 10 years

Micah Richards has expressed his desire for Erling Haaland to stay at Manchester City for the next 10 years.

During the latest episode of The Rest Is Football podcast, the well-known pundit lauded Haaland, who opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola’s men in their 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

The Manchester City talisman is having yet another spectacular campaign, leading the Premier League’s goalscoring charts with 14 strikes to his name in 13 games.

Micah Richards hopes Erling Haaland stays at Manchester City for the next 10 years

Gary Nevile said the Premier League is “lucky” that the £51.2 million (Sky Sports) man chose to come to England as he believes players of his standing in the game tend to sign for either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Micah Richards was full of praise for Erling Haaland, before expressing his desire for him to stay at Manchester City for the next decade.

“He’s a ridiculous player, unbelievable talent and long may it continue. I hope he stays here for 10 years, to be honest; I really do”, Richards said on The Rest Is Football podcast.

If Erling Haaland does, he would likely end up as the greatest Premier League player of all time

If Manchester City striker Erling Haaland grants Micah Richards his wish, it seems highly likely that he would end up being regarded as the greatest Premier League player of all time.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker has a claim for being the best pure goalscorer the league has ever seen already.

Taking that into account, Erling Haaland would likely break Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record in the division, which would put him in the reckoning to go down as the league’s greatest ever.

Furthermore, the ex-RB Salzburg frontman has already won the treble and would likely win a lot more silverware, especially until the day Pep Guardiola decides to leave the club.

At only 23 years of age, Haaland is bound to get better and better as well, which makes this possibility an inevitability, only if he decides to prolong his love affair with the Sky Blues.
