In what has been a commendable season for Arsenal, speculation arises regarding potential squad restructuring during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Despite their notable success, the North London club faces significant challenges within their lineup, prompting discussions of strategic changes.

Chief among the concerns is the team’s need for reinforcements in key positions, particularly a striker and a midfielder. Additionally, the left-back position has emerged as a point of contention, with makeshift solutions being utilised throughout the season. Jakub Kiwior, among those deployed in this role, finds his future under scrutiny.

Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, James McNicholas weighed in on Kiwior’s status within the squad. Despite the Polish defender’s impressive performances this season, McNicholas suggested that Arsenal might entertain offers for his departure, potentially signalling a significant shift in the team’s defensive setup.

McNicholas acknowledged Kiwior’s contributions but hinted at the possibility of a summer exit. The prospect of selling the £20 million-rated player, though harsh, remains on the table for Arsenal as they evaluate their squad dynamics and transfer priorities.

“Even though someone like Jakub Kiwior has made a big contribution and a good season for the most part, it wouldn’t blow my mind if an offer came in for him and Arsenal decided to trade, there is a prospect of that this summer,” McNicholas said.

While acknowledging Kiwior’s versatility and reliability, McNicholas emphasised the harshness of a potential departure. Despite not being a fixture in the starting lineup, Kiwior’s adaptability and consistent performances make him a valuable asset, especially in challenging seasons where depth is crucial.

Arsenal will return to Premier League action this weekend against Manchester United at Old Trafford with the hope to continue their push for the league title this season
