With no midweek assignment, Real Madrid continued their preparations for Saturday’s La Liga clash against UD Las Palmas today.

The Merengues are currently second in La Liga, a point behind leaders Girona and will be eager to climb to the top with a win.

Heading into the game, the good news for Carlo Ancelotti & co. is that there are no fresh injury concerns in the squad, with Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois, and David Alaba the only players out with injuries.

Federico Valverde back in training

On Wednesday, some concerns had emerged surrounding key midfielder Federico Valverde after he did not train with the rest of the team.

It was reported that the Uruguayan international was dealing with a minor hip issue and that he would be ready to face Las Palmas on Saturday.

And, as it happens, Valverde has already returned to group training today, reports, Melchor Ruiz of COPE. The midfield mainstay is expected to be fully fine and available for the Las Palmas clash.

The 25-year-old is one of Ancelotti’s most important players and has played in each of Real Madrid’s 30 matches across all competitions this season, starting 27 of those.

He has scored a goal and set up three more from those appearances.

Even though the manager has rotated some of his other midfielders, Valverde and Bellingham have been permanent fixtures in the side. And with the latter suspended for the Las Palmas game, not having the Uruguayan also would have been a blow.

But, as things stand, Valverde is fit and back in training and ready to face Las Palmas away at Gran Canaria come Saturday.
