In a huge update, German publication BILD (h/t Mundo Deportivo) is reporting that Kylian Mbappe has made a decision over his future and wants to join Real Madrid from PSG in the summer.

The 25-year-old’s future has once again been dominating the headlines as he has less than six months left on his contract with PSG.

The Parisian giants have been trying hard to convince him to sign a new contract, using the lure of allowing him to play at the Olympics in the summer as bait.

Mbappe decides to join Real Madrid

However, as per the aforementioned report, the 2018 FIFA World Cup has indeed decided that he wants to join Real Madrid in the summer as a free agent.

Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna had already reported the same earlier in January, but Mbappe’s administration had moved in quickly to dismiss those rumours.

But, now, BILD is also claiming that Mbappe will be bound to the Spanish capital club once his current deal with PSG runs out on June 30.

Wages yet to be finalised

This development seems to be in line with reports from France earlier this week which suggested that there was an agreement in principle between Mbappe and Real Madrid.

It is further claimed that the French superstar has agreed to reduce his wages to join the Merengues. Despite that, he is still holding out for a bumper contract worth around €70 million per season.

It would completely shatter the wage scale in place at Real Madrid and the report states that Florentino Perez would be willing to offer around half of the Frenchman’s demands, i.e., €35 million per year.

Real Madrid, for now, are waiting on the final yes from Mbappe and his camp before things can be set in motion and an agreement can be reached. For now, it appears that the forward is leaning towards the Bernabeu.
