
Austin, TX – The University of Texas at Austin has announced the return of a beloved Longhorns legend, Earl Campbell, who has been hired as the program’s ambassador and advisor to the athletic director.
Campbell, a 1977 Heisman Trophy winner and member of the College Football Hall of Fame, will serve as a representative of the university and its athletic department, promoting the Longhorns brand and fostering relationships with alumni, fans, and corporate partners.
“We are thrilled to welcome Earl back to the Longhorns family,” said Texas Athletic Director Chris Del Conte. “His passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence embody the spirit of our program, and we look forward to his contributions in this new role.”
As ambassador, Campbell will make appearances at university events, speak at functions, and participate in community outreach initiatives. He will also provide counsel to Del Conte on matters related to the athletic department and the football program.
“I’m honored to return to my alma mater and serve in this capacity,” Campbell said. “I’m excited to help promote the Longhorns brand and give back to the university that gave me so much.”
